Toubacouta Overnight

From the Hotels:

From a Morning pick up from the hotels a drive to Banjul seaport to the ferry terminal having a very interesting crossing from Banjul to Barra on the North Bank of the Country. A drive across the north of the country to the Gambian border where you will come up to a check point for passport control (get your passport stamped). A short drive then follows to the Senegal border Karrang as well for another passport stamp to get into neighboring Senegal.

Misira

After having passports stamped a drive is then taken to the first village you come to called ‘Toubacouta’ village. Here you have a family visit at one of the families in the village itself to see the real traditional and cultural way of living, before reaching your Hotel.
Upon arrival and check in, enjoy your lunch and relax by the swimming pool.

Late in the afternoon, a boat trip will take you to for a lovely cruise into the mangrove creek. The island of Sippo still remains hardly untouched and still has ancient and cultural heritage. Here you will get a chance to see the Queen of the island whom is the lady head of the isle. On Sippo you also will get the chance to see how the local palm wine and local gin ‘zum zum’ are made and have a taste if you like.

The boat trip goes on from Sippo Island and brings you back to your hotel.
Dinner and entertainment follows in the evening time.

The following Morning…

Breakfast will be served around 8am. Then, by army truck, you will leave your hotel with pack lunch for Fathala, the nature reserve near Toubacouta. From the nature reserve, we head to the Ferry terminal in Barra for our crossing to Banjul. After the crossing to Banjul we head to your respective Hotels.
